Go to: News ListAKO, a leading Spanish company in Temperature Regulation and Control with Electrical Heat-tracing solutions, has been named Business of the month regarding both safety aspects, and complying with Health and Hygiene Standards during the building works of the two adjoining power generation Thermosolar power plants Valle 1 and 2, using parabolic-trough collectors, which is being carried out in the town of San José del Valle (Cadiz, Spain).
This two plant thermalsolar complex occupies a total of 510,000 sq. m., with an installed capacity of 50 MW, representing a total of around 170 GWh per year, capable of covering the power supply of 40,000 households and preventing the annual emission of approximately 90,000 tonnes of CO2.
In April 2011, the company started to supply and install its AKOTRACE® turnkey solution that includes different aspects: from studying the application in its research and development area, Project Engineering, as well as having a Project and Works Management for the correct installation and supervision of the works, guaranteeing the quality of the equipment, and integrity, workers' safety and respect for the environment.
Its extensive knowledge and experience guarantees Electrical Heat-tracing criticality in this type of plants, with a high risk of fire and explosion, guaranteeing the circulation of oil fluid at high temperatures, particularly in the "process phase" where they reach 400 ºC, to prevent non-desired Plant stoppages or a loss of performance in its operation. The company guarantees at all times the quality of the equipment it supplies with specific preliminary Stress Test studies to guarantee correct operation and it carries out spare part management, with the necessary material and staff to address any incident in the installation, as well as strictly meeting safety, health and hygiene standards.
