The French multinational's new establishment will be operational in the middle of this year. It is the first time that AKO has been awarded a project for a large multinational chain in Poland.
AKO, a leading company specialising in solutions for the control and monitoring of industrial and commercial cooling systems, has begun a new international project.
On this occasion it involves the control and monitoring system of cold production for a hypermarket belonging to the Carrefour chain in Poland. It is the first time that AKO has been awarded a project for a large multinational chain in this country, which is a big step forward in its process of international expansion.
AKO carried out this operation in conjunction with its distributor in Poland, Frigo-Polska, which specialises in the industrial supply of cooling, air conditioning and ventilation systems and devices.
Frigo-Polska is including in their budgets to Supermarket as a floating condensation AKO differential over other brands. In 2009 will be installed a total of 5 brand Supermarket Champions (by Carrefour Group).
AKO supplied all the equipment necessary for this project last March, although completion isn't planned until July of this year. For the new hypermarket, the company is providing one of the most innovative solutions of 2009: the AKODUO range. It consists of a new generation of controllers, based on PLC technology, which offers complete modularity and reliability for the efficient management of compressor and condenser racks. It is made up of DUOControl, DUOVision and DUOAssistant.
The first of these manages the compressor racks using the floating condensation algorithm, optimising the condensation temperature depending on the outside temperature, which results in significant energy savings. Its innovative design allows maximum scalability for the system to grow while optimising installation cost. Furthermore, it features integrated communications for connecting to remote control and monitoring software.
For its part, DUOVision has two graphic displays which provide quick and accurate system status information, providing the user with total accessibility and reliable management of the system. Parameters are grouped according to their function in a graphical and intuitive way. Finally, DUOAssistant a PC-based program, a powerful tool for facilitating the parameterisation process and system set-up, allowing offline programming for DUOControl, saving time in commissioning and fine tuning the installation. It allows DUOControl to be parameterised from an ordinary file and all system variables to be recorded for later analysis by DUOAssistant.
One of the main reasons why Carrefour chose AKO was the AKODUO floating condensation system, a feature in which AKO is ahead of the game resulting in a significant energy saving.
Currently in Poland, there are more than 20 Supermarkets with products AKO.
